Riders appreciate how the Session MIPS combines style and functionality, making it suitable for both challenging trails and urban environments.

How does the MIPS technology in the SMITH Session enhance safety?

MIPS, or Multi-Directional Impact Protection System, adds a significant layer of safety to the SMITH Session helmet. It allows the helmet to move slightly on impact, absorbing rotational forces that would otherwise transfer to the brain. This innovative design is crucial for mountain bikers who face unpredictable terrains. By minimizing the risk of concussions from angled impacts, MIPS technology gives cyclists the confidence to tackle rough trails and enjoy their rides more safely.

Is the SMITH Session MIPS helmet suitable for both summer and winter use?

Yes, the SMITH Session MIPS helmet is versatile enough for both summer and winter activities. It features adjustable ventilation to keep you cool during warmer days while providing compatibility with winter accessories like ear pads or beanies. This makes it perfect for bikers who enjoy switching between seasonal sports. Whether you're hitting the trails in summer or cycling in cool weather, this helmet adapts to meet your comfort needs.

What size options are available for the SMITH Session MIPS helmet?

The SMITH Session MIPS helmet comes in a variety of sizes to cater to different head circumferences. Typically, sizes range from small to large, ensuring a snug and secure fit for a majority of riders. To find the perfect size, it's recommended to measure your head and refer to the size chart provided by SMITH. A proper fit not only enhances comfort but also maximizes the helmet's protective capabilities.

Can I customize the fit of the SMITH Session MIPS helmet?

Yes, the SMITH Session MIPS helmet features an adjustable fit system that allows you to customize the snugness. This is typically done via an adjustable dial at the back of the helmet, which helps achieve a secure yet comfortable fit. A personalized fit is essential for optimal protection and comfort, especially during rugged rides. Riders find that a well-fitted helmet improves stability and reduces distractions while navigating challenging trails.

What kind of ventilation does the SMITH Session MIPS offer?

The SMITH Session MIPS helmet includes strategically placed vents that enhance airflow while riding. This design helps keep your head cool during intense activity by facilitating air circulation. Riders often appreciate this feature on hot days, and it can make long-distance rides much more comfortable. Proper ventilation not only improves comfort but can also contribute to better performance by preventing overheating.

Does the SMITH Session MIPS come with a sun visor?

Yes, the SMITH Session MIPS helmet comes equipped with an integrated sun visor that provides extra protection against sun glare and debris. This visor is particularly beneficial for mountain bikers navigating sunny trails. It enhances vision and comfort, allowing you to focus on your ride rather than squinting against bright sunlight. For riders looking for added protection during daytime rides, this feature is a great advantage.

What color options are available for the SMITH Session MIPS helmet?

The SMITH Session MIPS helmet is available in a range of colors and finishes to suit different styles and preferences. From classic matte looks to vibrant colorways, there's likely something for everyone. Selecting the right color not only allows for personal expression but also enhances visibility during rides, which can be an important safety factor on the road or trail.

How do I clean and maintain my SMITH Session MIPS helmet?

Cleaning your SMITH Session MIPS helmet is straightforward. It is recommended to wipe it down with a damp cloth and mild soap, avoiding harsh chemicals that could damage the materials.
