Posthomerica (Loeb Classical Library)

The reception of this edition of Quintus Smyrnaeus has been mixed among readers, particularly those familiar with the original works of Homer. Many customers have praised the book for its engaging language, often likening it to ancient fan fiction due to the rich connection to the themes and characters of the Iliad and Odyssey. Readers who recently delved into these classic texts expressed that Smyrnaeus' work was a delightful continuation of their reading journey, finding it to be a fun and enjoyable read. However, the product has not been without its criticisms. Some readers pointed out a significant number of typographical errors and inConsistencies, particularly involving the transliteration of proper names. This has raised concerns about losing the original's meaning and integrity. While a few readers reported a clean reading experience, others encountered deviations that detracted from their overall enjoyment of the text. Furthermore, an evident gap in customer support from the publisher left some buyers disappointed regarding their feedback on these issues. Overall, while the literary quality and enjoyment of the content are highlighted, the numerous editorial mishaps have affected the perception of this edition, leaving readers wishing for a more polished version. **
