Microplane Elite Series Grater (Coarse, Black)

The Microplane Elite Series Grater Coarse, Black is a versatile and efficient grater that has received mixed reviews from customers. Many customers appreciate its performance, stating that it is the easiest and most effective microplane they have ever used. It is praised for its ability to grate a variety of ingredients, including nutmeg, soft goat cheese, and even chocolate. The grater is also dishwasher safe, making it convenient for cleaning. However, there are also several negative reviews. Some customers complained about the durability of the grater, with one user stating that it broke within two weeks of use in a professional kitchen. There were also complaints about the blades dulling quickly and the plastic measuring cup catcher breaking easily. Other criticisms include the misleading description of the product, as it states that the handle is made of wood when in reality it is made of plastic. Some customers also expressed disappointment in the fact that the grater is assembled in Mexico, despite the blade being made in the USA. In terms of design, the grater produces finer shavings compared to a traditional box grater, making it more suitable for topping individual platings of food. However, the plastic cover/catcher has gaps that allow larger brittle pieces to fall into the grated ingredients, which can be a drawback when grating cinnamon sticks. In conclusion, the Microplane Elite Series Grater Coarse, Black is a mixed bag of customer experiences. While it offers efficient grating and is dishwasher safe, there are concerns about its durability, quick blade dulling, and the misleading product description. Customers may need to weigh the Pros and Cons before purchasing this grater.
