- Burlap is a 100% natural fabric that is made from jute fibers. Burlap is an incredibly versatile fabric and can be used in a wide variety of applications, from wedding to gardening to construction. Our burlap is made from 100% natural jute fibers. The edges of this burlap are selvaged to prevent fraying. Burlap fabric can add a rustic to feel to any room or event. Burlap is used extensively in weddings with a rustic theme, and can be paired with décor choices to give the room a look of rustic elegance. As this burlap is all natural, it does have that classic burlap linseed oil scent which can be expunged by allowing it to air out in the sun. There are many other ways in which burlap fabric can be used besides décor. Burlap is used in gardening to wrap trees and plants for the winter, as well as in construction to help concrete cure. Other applications include as fabric for acoustic dampening panels and backing for rug hooking. This burlap is 10 oz, medium weight.
