svar: With the lid, just quickly wipe, maybe some gentle soap, but don't soak or run through the dishwasher or anything like that. The base could probably go in the dishwasher, but I'd personally just hand wash it. -

svar: I would say yes. I almost have to “pry” the wooden lid off, careful to hold on to the crock portion. Would not recommend a small child to open it alone as I can envision it flying off of a countertop!!

Measuring in at 9 inches tall and 7 inches in diameter, it is a bit smaller than what you might expect from a typical cookie jar, but it will hold one pack of store-bought cookies or a dozen to fifteen homemade ones of palm size. It features an air-tight seal to keep your cookies fresh for days. The wooden lid adds a touch of rustic charm to the design with its "COOKIES" inscribed in capital letters, and the guilt-free tongs are an adorable addition that makes serving cookies so much fun. However, the lid handle is only stapled on, and a few customers have reported having issues with it coming off.
