Although it is not as smooth as more expensive knives, it is great value for money and can be easily oiled and broken in. It is made in Taiwan even though it is an American company. The knife is made up of some form of plastic, not real G10, and it comes with a 4 way positionable clip. The blade is sharp and has been tested for months and still holds it quite sharp. A user complained that the knife is terrible, unbalanced and too big to handle, causing it to drop frequently. The blade tip rolls very easily, and it is difficult to sharpen. However, most reviews mentioned that Ontario Rat 1 is an excellent budget knife with great ergonomics that beat more high-valued knives.
