The Moultrie Hanging Deer Feeder boasts a generous capacity of up to 30 pounds. This allows for extended feeding sessions without the need for frequent refills. This makes it ideal for busy hunters or wildlife observers who want to ensure a consistent food source over time. You can easily attract deer and other wildlife to your feeding area by filling it with quality feed, ensuring your setup remains effective for longer periods.

How does the Easy Set Timer work on the Moultrie Hanging Deer Feeder?

The Easy Set Timer allows you to customize the feeding schedule with ease. You can set feeding times, duration, and frequency with just a few simple adjustments. This feature is particularly useful for adapting to wildlife patterns, ensuring that deer are fed at the right times for maximum attraction. For example, you can schedule early morning or late evening feedings when deer are most active, improving your chances of seeing them.

Is the Moultrie Hanging Deer Feeder weatherproof?

Yes, the Moultrie Hanging Deer Feeder is designed to withstand various weather conditions. Constructed from durable materials, it prevents moisture from spoiling your feed and protects the feeder from wind and rain. This resilience ensures that your feeder is functional year-round. Whether it's during a rainstorm or in snowy conditions, it remains effective, allowing you to maintain a reliable feeding site for wildlife.

What types of feed can I use with the Moultrie Hanging Deer Feeder?

You can use a variety of feed types, including grains, corn, and protein pellets, with this deer feeder. It's versatile and can accommodate different compositions to attract various wildlife species. By experimenting with different feeds, you can ascertain what works best for your local wildlife.

Can the Moultrie Hanging Deer Feeder be hung from a tree or post?

Yes, the Moultrie Hanging Deer Feeder is specifically designed to be hung from trees or posts. This flexibility makes it easy to position the feeder at an ideal height for access and visibility to deer while keeping it out of reach from smaller animals. Configure the height based on your environment to enhance your chances of attracting deer effectively. This setup allows for a more natural feeding experience in the deer’s habitat.

How do I install the Moultrie Hanging Deer Feeder?

Installing the Moultrie Hanging Deer Feeder is straightforward. Start by selecting a suitable location—ideally a spot that deer frequently forage in. Hang the feeder from a tree branch or pole using the provided straps or hooks. Ensure it's securely fastened to prevent it from swaying or falling. Proper installation ensures that deer can access the feed effortlessly, leading to more successful wildlife observation or hunting trips.

Will the Moultrie Hanging Deer Feeder attract other animals besides deer?

Yes, while the primary focus of the Moultrie Hanging Deer Feeder is to attract deer, it can also draw in other wildlife like squirrels, raccoons, and birds. Depending on the type of feed you use, these additional animals might flock to your feeder. This can be an added benefit for those interested in observing a variety of wildlife. Ensure that the feeder's placement and feed types align with your specific wildlife observation goals.

What maintenance does the Moultrie Hanging Deer Feeder require?

Maintenance of the Moultrie Hanging Deer Feeder involves regular cleaning and monitoring of the feed supply. Occasionally check for any weather-related damage or blockages in the feeder's dispensing system. Cleaning the feeder ensures that mold and spoilage do not affect the feed, maintaining its quality over time. Scheduling maintenance checks can help you ensure ongoing functionality and optimal attraction of deer.

Can I use the Moultrie Hanging Deer Feeder for bird feeding?

While the Moultrie Hanging Deer Feeder is designed primarily for deer, it can also be utilized for bird feeding by using a suitable feed blend that attracts birds. However, it's essential to be aware that the feed compartment size may not be ideal for smaller bird seeds. Moultrie Game Feeders Editorial Review

The Moultrie Pro Hunter II Hanging Feeder is a reliable and easy-to-use feeder with 360-degree coverage. It comes with a timer and can be hung on a tree using a hoist and hanging bar. It requires a standard 6 volts 5 amp safety battery, and it works with the Moultrie Feeder Powerpanel. However, it is not suitable for small feed like layer crumble and scratch grains for birds. Customers who have bought the Moultrie Pro Hunter II Hanging Feeder have given mixed reviews. Some love it and find it easy to program and use, while others have had issues with the design and functionality. Some have had problems with the lid hold-down tabs bending over the edge of the bucket, and others have had issues with the mount not working for their feeder. One customer received a faulty product and had to return it. Another customer found the updated controller to set feed parameters to be terrible and preferred the older version with fewer buttons. Overall, the Moultrie Pro Hunter II Hanging Feeder is a reliable and easy-to-use feeder with mixed customer reviews.
