It provides an excellent backlight that illuminates only the digits, and it is easily turned on via the snooze bar on the top. The timer reminds me of the countdown timer display from the show 24 and can even appear to resemble an old-school LED display. However, some customers found it difficult to set the time and noted that the display is difficult to read under ordinary light, making it impossible to see the time across the room.
